Esther Gitonga - Board member

Esther Gitonga is the Head of School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at a Dutch university of Applied Sciences. She holds a Masters of Science degree in Leisure, Tourism and Environment with a minor in Education Studies from (Wageningen University, 2011) and a First Class Honours in the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management (Kenyatta University in Nairobi [2007]).

She is currently doing her PhD at Wageningen University. She has extensive experience in the service sector. She is passionate about Sustainability, Internationalisation, and lifelong learning.

She believes that African countries with their rich natural, human and intellectual resources, have the tools needed for a sustainable and responsible development that provides a decent living for all her citizens and that through dialogue and fair partnerships with the rest of the world this goal can be achieved.
